PHONE CALLS

Inmate’s cannot receive incoming calls.
• All inmate outgoing calls are collect, unless the inmate has purchased phone time, then the inmate will be able to call direct.
***ALL PHONE CALLS ARE RECORDED AND SOMETIMES MONITORED****
• Securus  Technologies is the company that handles our inmate phone system. If you have any question or any problems you may call them at 1-800-844-6591.
• We will not take messages for inmates.

MAIL


• All incoming and outgoing mail, except legal mail will be inspected for contraband.
• All mail must have the sender's full name and complete return address.
• Mail for inmates need to be sent to the following address:

• Mail cannot have, glitter, perfume, lipstick, stickers or any obscene material if it does it will be returned to the sender..
• Inmates are allowed to have photographs in their possession no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches.
• ***DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL****
• Photographs may be mailed to the inmate provided the envelope is clearly marked "Photographs". The photographs may not exceed 5 inches by 7 inches in size. The inmates name and name number must be written on the back of each photograph.
• Books and magazines are available through the Detention Library. Should you want to send a specific book to an inmate, it must be directly mailed from a book store/publisher. Nothing can be written in or added to the book.
• No hard back books are accepted.
• Once the inmate is released or transferred to another facility, the book becomes part of the Uinta County Detention Library.
• Uinta County Detention Center does not forward mail. Mail for inmates no longer incarcerated will be returned to the sender.


COMMISSARY

• Personal hygiene items cannot be brought into the jail and must be purchased through commissary.
• Inmates have the opportunity to basic hygiene when they are initially booked in and 3 times a week thereafter.
• Commissary is usually ordered on Monday evenings and delivered Wednesday.
• Our Commissary provider is Swanson Services Corp.
 
MONEY

• The only forms of money accepted are Cash, Money Orders, and Cashier’s Checks.
• Cash is accepted at the Cobra Cashier Machine in the front lobby, this machine will accept cash, or Visa, or Master Cards.
• If you want to send a money order or cashier’s check through the mail, please make it payable to the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office and include the inmate’s full name in the memo.
• The Uinta County Detention Center can receive money directly from MoneyGram, if you wish to send money securely through MoneyGram, just visit a MoneyGram agent location and provide the following:
   
   *Company Name:    SSC Inmate Funding
   *Receive Code:        7950
   *Account Number:   EVW_ _ _ _ _ _ plus inmates name #
                          i.e.     EVW123456

VISITING


Visiting hours are:

Adult Males: Thursdays Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Adult Females: Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

RULES FOR INMATE VISITATION

1. Members of inmate’s families and their friends are encouraged to maintain close contact with the inmates, including visits with them while they are incarcerated in the Uinta County Detention Center.

2. Inmates sentenced to 5 days or less, and /or serving a “weekend” type jail sentence will not be permitted visitation.

3. Visitors that have been released from this facility within the past 30 days will not be allowed to visit.

4. Any former inmates that were disruptive to the facility while they were incarcerated will be denied visitation.

5. Visitors will abide by all of the following rules for inmate visitation set forth by the Sheriff of Uinta County. Any person not following by these rules will be prohibited from visiting until they agree to follow the rules, and have been approved by the Sheriff or his designee to allow visitation. Any visitor providing false identification, lying to Detention/Dispatch staff, or causing destruction to property or being disruptive, are subject to permanently losing visiting privileges.

6. Visitation may be canceled at any time without prior notification.

7. Cell phones or any other electronic device are not allowed in the visiting area, any person caught with any of these items will have their visitation terminated, and will not be allowed to visit.

8. All communication will be thru the visit phones. Writing notes, signing, or showing anything thru the glass, will terminate your visit. 

 9. Inmates will be permitted 2 visits, if time allows, on any one visiting day. When our population increases, it may be only feasible to allow 1 visit for that day, so that more inmates will have the opportunity to visit.

10. A visitor may be denied visitation, if it is determined that his/or her visit might be a threat to the safety and security of the facility, Staff or other inmates.

11. No person under the age of 18 will be permitted to visit any inmates unless they are accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

a. This restriction does not apply to any person who is legally married to the inmate, but must show proof of marriage.

b. The juvenile is visiting their parents

12. No visitor will be permitted to visit while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

13. This is a tobacco free facility. Smoking/chewing will not be permitted in the facility. If you are caught with any tobacco it will be seized, and you will lose your visiting privileges. Please leave these items in your vehicle.

14. Proper attire is required during visitation. The decision on what proper attire is will be left to the discretion of the on duty Detention Officer. Exposing any part of your body that is clothed will terminate your visit.

15. Visitors will be taken on a first come first serve basis, except as special circumstances dictate, i.e. no contact between certain inmates, inmates under admin segregation, on  disciplinary status.

16. Weapons, such as knives, guns, or any other type of weapons are not permitted in this facility and are subject to seizure. Please leave these items in your vehicle.

17. Visitors are encouraged to leave all personal property in their vehicle; The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property.

18. All visitors including children will conduct themselves appropriately at all times. This includes while waiting in the lobby. It is important that you respect the rights and property of others. If at any time you or your children are not acting appropriate, you will be asked to leave the facility, and not be allowed to visit.

19. Visiting times are posted in the lobby. Visit times will end as posted, i.e. DO NOT SHOW UP AT 11:25 AND EXPECT A 20 MINIUTE VISIT, IT WILL END AT 11:30
