County Treasurer Duties

  • Keeping the County's Financial Records
    • Issue payments on bonded indebtedness for county and school Districts.
    • Maintain permanent record of all monies receipted and disbursed by the County.
    • Maintain permanent record of all tax revenues collected and disbursed for levied entities.
    • Maintain register on outstanding bonded indebtedness for county and school districts.
  • Property Tax Collection
    • Collect Ad Valorum Tax on all real and personal property in Uinta County.
    • Collect Ad Valorum Tax on mineral production and real property.
    • Hold tax sale on properties with delinquent taxes.
  • Sales Tax Collection
    • Collect all sales tax on vehicles registered in Uinta County.
    • Fee based on place of residence.
  • Vehicle Registrations
    • Issue temporary registrations. The fee is set on proportional basis (i.e., 10%, 20%, etc.) of a full year.
      • For a newly purchased vehicle, proof of payment of Wyoming sales tax, ownership, and insurance is required.
      • Vehicles currently registered in another state need current registration and proof of insurance.
    • Issue Wyoming license plates. The fee is based on type of vehicle for one year. Must have proper Wyoming title and proof of insurance.
    • Provide law enforcement and state authorities access to records of all vehicles registered in Uinta County.
    • Register all heavy equipment operated in Uinta County.
