Transferring From Another County In Wyoming
You will need your most current registration! If you do not have it, contact the department where you last registered the vehicle for a copy.
You will need your proof of insurance for that vehicle. If you do not have a current card, you can have the insurance faxed or emailed directly to our office.
Changing Out-of-State Plates to Wyoming
You will need your most current out-of-state registration! If you do not have it, contact the department where you last registered the vehicle for a copy.

Is the vehicle financed? If the vehicle has a lien, the County Clerk's Office will need the following documentation submitted to their office prior to registration.
- Vin Inspection from law enforcement ($10 fee)
- Odometer Reading
- $15.00 titling fee.
- $20.00 lien filing fee
- Most current out of state registration
- Proof of insurance
- A financing statement or security agreement, if you are unable to provide the loan documents, you will need to bring in the address and account number associated with the loan in order for the Clerk's office to make a request to your lender for the title.
Have the title in hand? If you have a clear title in hand for the vehicle, you will need to bring the following documentation.

Working in Wyoming Temporarily
If you are only in Wyoming temporarily, you have a few options; you can either pay for a temporary worker permit, or pay the annual registration fee for Wyoming License Plates. Your current out of state registration and proof of insurance is required in order to obtain a temporary worker permit.
